One of the pleasures of a retreat at the Shack Country Inn in White Cloud, Michigan is Lake Robinson. During the day in the summer there are paddle boats to explore the shore around the lake and sneak up on turtles sunning themselves. But the early morning mist and shadows at sundown command the senses to observe the changes in light, wait for fish to jump or just let the view calm one’s spirit. A family of swans nest in the furthest bay each year. Watching the signets grow and try to land gracefully on the water like their parents is a treat.
