Many retreats, conferences and events for pastors exclude the spouse. So the pastor goes off to the retreat and then tries to explain the benefits he learned to the spouse which is next to impossible.
But when they go together, experience the rest, and share what they are learning together daily there is so much more to gain. Some spouses have told us that before the retreat they didn’t understand why they should accompany their pastor spouse. After the retreat they discovered that they needed it as much or more than the pastor.
One pastor wrote this: “This retreat has been a great opportunity to deepen our connection with God and each other. Our marriage relationship is set before our congregation and it has to be strong to thwart the attack that the enemy has unleashed on many families”.
